Hi Kate
Thanks for visiting my blog, sorry I haven't written back to you until now, I wasn't checking for comments on my older posts.
Anyway, in answer to your question, I found my writing teacher through an ad in the local bookshop. I have private lessons once a month but I know she often does group sessions in local adult ed colleges so you might want to try your local college.
The best thing about my teacher is that she has published novels in the genre I want to get into, so she knows what agents/ editors are looking for... Why not ask your local bookshop if they know of any local authors and approach them about lessons?
Best of luck!

Great list. My personal favorite is 'a force of nature'. :)
Hi Kate, love your list! Barging in on the last comment do you need a writing teacher? You seem to be doing pretty well as it is! If you do ever want any advice etc then drop me a line, I take writing class but could give your general advice too. Rx
